MISTY built in 1951 by James W. Cook (Wivenhoe) Ltd has been for sale on Apolloduck for the past few months. In July she was sold by the Broads Authority and found a new owner in Ely,Cambridgeshire.

Garf Norman who owns ‘The Boat Yard,Ely’ brought her back from Norfolk to Ely and instantly got to work blasting her topsides and repainting her and renaming her back to MISTY. She will be mainly used for light towing duties and for pleasure and enjoyment.

Below are a photos showing the stages of restoration work undertaken and how she looks as of August 2020. Garf along with his wife plan to blast and repaint the hull next year.

Its brilliant to see a piece of Thames history and this wonderful tug being well looked after and loved
